Argentina's public higher education system was previously renowned for its accessibility, but things have changed. In a country stricken by crisis and very high inflation, it is increasingly difficult for law students from low-middle-class families to participate in international arbitration moots and competitions. The situation has worsened since the newly elected government has implemented tighter fiscal policies and partially defunded educational programs that are not essential.
For law students in Argentina, engaging in international moot competitions is pivotal for honing legal skills, gaining exposure to international forums, and networking with universities around the globe. However, reduced financial support from institutions like UBA has left promising students from low-middle-class backgrounds unable to afford travel expenses such as transportation, meals and travel insurance.
We believe that socioeconomic status should never hinder educational opportunities or career prospects. We will bridge the gap by fundraising to cover the travel expenses of Argentine teams participating in international moot competitions. With our support, talented law students will be able to enhance their legal education and advocacy skills and build a robust and promising professional experience.
By providing equal access to moot competitions, we aim to empower Argentine law students to develop into competent legal professionals capable of competing on the global stage. Our commitment to equitable access to education reinforces the principle of democracy and strengthens Argentina's workforce with diverse and skilled individuals. Join us in shaping a more inclusive and competent legal community.
