Christmas time is coming and summer holidays are starting for Argentinean children. After a year of hard work, study and activities it's time to enjoy pools, sun and meetings. The 11 schools where ACDI's program of Padrinos Solidarios is working are finishing theirs activities with institutional celebrations, exams and awards for the best students. Thanks to our program, they are also preparing Christmas presents fore each one of the 500 children who participate in the program. They will receive typical sweets to celebrate Christmas Eve with their families, like chocolates, cakes, nuts and nougats, with a special gift and best wishes to have a beautiful time and good holidays with the people they care.
During this school year, different actions were taken by the program in order to increase access to school and quality of education. The drop out rate has decreased of 20% in children who participate to ACDI's program and 50 new beneficiaries have been included in our system of distance adoption. The majority of the schools where the program is working invested in materials, structural improvements, schools trips, art, music and theatre workshops, but also foods and medicines.
Next year, a new school located in the city of Santa Fe will start to enjoy our program and it will be a new challenge to look for sponsorship for the 20 children who will start to participate to this new initiative. Every kid is chosen by the social worker of the school after an evaluation based on house visit and family interview. Normally are children who lack of accompaniment, whose families are numerous and parents are unemployed. The need to provide school with best instruments and founds to take care of the wellness of this children are huge, so we call for your support in order to bet with us on education by providing them with better condition and possibilities of learning and life.
