Summary

Corporacion Hogar will carry out the construction of a Comprehensive Service Center: a place to fulfill dreams, through two stages. The first stage is made up of 5 floors, where 500 children and young people from the city of Medellin will be attended, who are in a situation of abandonment, abuse or violence. We will offer five programs: formal education (primary and secondary), therapeutic care, training for young people, an innovation laboratories and a music room.

Challenge

In the city of Medellin, department of Antioquia, Colombia, child abuse continues to be alarming, its main causes are domestic violence, child labor, drug use, the recruitment of illegal groups, the situation of the street, early pregnancies. 60,000 young people are at risk and 4,800 are vulnerable to being part of criminal structures, these factors increase the number of violations of the rights of children and young people in the city.

Solution

500 children and young people will benefit each year. 200 children and young people will have two therapeutic care offices to rebuild their life project, on the first floor. 100 children will continue their educational process on the second floor where "The school" will be built, composed of 3 classrooms. 100 adolescents will strengthen their thinking skills in the creative and digital laboratory on the third floor. 100 Youth will receive human training and music classes on the third floor.

Long-Term Impact

In the last 10 years, the Home Corporation has protected and restored the rights of an average of 1,500 children, adolescents and young people, 90% have been reintegrated into families, 80% have continued with their basic studies and they are young people who are rebuilding their life projects. With the construction, coverage will be expanded to 500 children and young people each year, that is, in 10 years an average of 5,000 children, young people and their families will live in more protective
