Anita, Alex and Annabel Nicholson lost their lives in the Sri Lanka bombings on Easter Sunday 2019. The Anita, Alex and Annabel Nicholson Memorial Fund has had enormous support in their memory and is being used to create a legacy to the optimistic and positives lives they led. Our partner projects across Asia are creating a safe, fun environment where children can be themselves, with high quality education, health, well being and inclusion at the core. All of this is done with the ethos of rugby.
Girls across Asia are treated significantly worse than boys. Our work through rugby empowers them, changes their perceptions about their own worth, and changes boys perceptions of their strengths and talents.
We are proud to partner with local organisations, adapting and responding to community needs. Our local partners provide the children with safe water, nutritious food, and clean clothing. This won't solve the problem, but we hope to equip the children with the skills and confidence to thrive in a different future. Giving girls a chance to shine, and show their talents, empowers them and changes perceptions about them. The work is just beginning and with your help it can continue.
The children learn leadership, communication, and teamwork, this is especially relevant for the girls providing them with a sense of empowerment and ability. The children have access to better education and employment. The results in Asia are startling, in some areas the school graduation rates were less than 18% with projects intervention this is now 80% and counting! Many have supported some of these children to further and higher education.
