The Animal Habitat Protection for 200 Communities project by Elite Star Foundation is progressing toward its goal of protecting and restoring wildlife habitats while strengthening conservation practices in rural communities. The project has a total fundraising target of $148,500, with $50 raised so far from 2 donors, leaving $148,450 still required to fully implement the planned activities.
Despite the limited funding received to date, the project remains focused on mobilising resources for community-led conservation activities, including establishing local conservation committees, restoring degraded habitats through native tree planting, training farmers and herders in sustainable land-use practices, and promoting environmental education. The funding gap remains the major constraint to achieving the project's intended scale across 200 communities. Every additional contribution will directly support practical conservation activities such as tree planting, community training, environmental education, wildlife conflict-reduction measures, and monitoring. The project is therefore continuing its fundraising efforts to secure the resources needed to expand implementation and deliver measurable environmental and community benefits.
