‘Angaza’ which is Swahili for ‘Light Up’ awards comprehensive multi-year secondary school scholarships to girls from under-served backgrounds. It also creates a platform for recent secondary school graduates and young women to access networks and platforms, giving them a competitive edge to acquire post-secondary school scholarships and personal development opportunities across the world.
We are happy to bring you good news. Through your generous support this year, we have invested $6,583 in school supplies for 41 girls and young women across Samburu, Turkana, Kwale and Kilifi counties. But don’t take our work for it.
Maria (not her real name), a vibrant and ambitious young woman from St. Thomas Kilifi is optimistic that joining the Angaza community will not only make her education goals a reality, but also propel her inherent skills and talents through Angaza’s support activities like mentorship and training; to become an influential and resourceful young woman in her community.
