An egg Project report for the fourth quarter of 2021

By Renjie Yang | SUF

The project has started to be implemented in September 2021. There are 4 implementing agencies in Sichuan responsible for the project execution. During the project execution period (110 days) in this quarter, 40 schools have been covered, 6,271 teachers and students have been served, and 689,810 eggs have been distributed. The number of schools served by each agency increased this year, creating new challenges for monitoring egg transportation and cooking. After constant groping in September, in October, the implementation agencies gradually formed a perfect mechanism for the supervision of egg transportation and the cooking situation of the project schools. In order to ensure the timely supply of eggs on demand, the transport of eggs is mainly coordinated by the implementing agencies, and teachers bring back eggs to the schools in individual project sites. Schools in the project sites have also been using different cooking methods such as poached eggs, fried eggs and boiled eggs to make eggs. We also advocate that on the premise of ensuring that children eat an egg every day, implementation agencies should also strengthen the dissemination of nutritional knowledge, and set up thematic courses to enhance children's nutritional knowledge and parents' nutritional awareness. Project visitors will visit the project site every month to learn about the implementation of the project. Every time the children see the project visitors, they are very happy to say: "The aunts and uncles who bring us eggs have come!" During the visit, the children are also willing to share their experiences at home and at school with the program visitors.
