The Amplify Her Voice Project seeks to respond to the specific issues and needs that women and girls are facing as a result of COVID-19 lockdown measures. The project is uniquely implemented through community-based, small dialogue circles covering key concerns for women and girls, using setting up a 24/7 toll-free line for GBV victims and tele-counseling services. This project ensures to reach women and girls in our community with much-needed pandemic interventions and protection.
The lockdown has created rising tensions in the home, putting women and children at increased risk of violence and abuse. Women and girls lack access to accurate information regarding sexual abuse, protection and COVID-19 prevention. COVID-19 is spreading in Uganda rapidly, statistics are inaccurate due to limited PCR tests. critical needs include, sanitary products and vacination. the crashed source of livelihood has lead to increased food insecurity threatening the survival of many families.
This project aims to support poor families to confront the spread of the epidemic by providing them with the necessary health resources, food aid, and tools to limit the spread of the epidemic, in addition to raising awareness of ways to prevent the epidemic.
This project will contribute to limiting the spread of the epidemic among poor families until the vaccine is available to Ugandans.
