Nucleo uses music to build communities and empower young people. Our free, immersive, ensemble-based programme makes a musical education accessible for any child or young person, from first musical steps through to the highest levels of performance. We build strong, connected musical communities in which children and young people can discover and fulfil their potential. As they do so, they develop a range of learning and life-skills that can have a truly transformational impact.
Of Nucleo's 450 students, 51% live in the most deprived 20% of postcodes in England. Access to a high-quality musical education, or to any enriching and transformative after-school and extracurricular programmes, is not available to all. The demand for our programme is growing exponentially - we are committed to supporting each of our students from birth to age 20, for as long as they choose to continue with us. We already have 350 more students on our waitlist.
Nucleo is the only organisation of its kind in England - free, immersive and comprehensive, focused on changing lives and building community through music. Working with students from birth to age 20, we support many families throughout their kids' childhood and adolescence, and see our students 3-4 times a week. We offer a unique musical learning experience centred around ensembles, so our students grow up playing together, learning as a team, supported and celebrated by our whole community.
Nucleo's ultimate goal for our students is that they leave us with more opportunities and a greater array of choices before them. We want them to be equipped, empowered and supported, so that they have the freedom to pursue any future they choose. We believe in them unconditionally and without limits, and whatever they go on to do, we hope that music will bring them joy throughout their lives.
