Empowering young leaders and coaches, to use football to address fatherlessness, mobilising them to bring transformation to themselves, their families and communities. Developing children and juvenile offenders holistically - Football, Faith, Future - to become future leaders and positive role models in their community.
The most common challenge around the world and especially in South Africa is a lack of fathers and positive male role models. Studies have shown that violent crime, drug and alcohol abuse, teen pregnancy, suicide are all related to fatherlessness than to any other single factor. 85% of children with behavioural problems come from fatherless homes 80% of rapists motivated by displace danger come from fatherless homes 70% of juveniles in state operated institutions come from fatherless homes
Therefore our coaches serve as father figures and we train coaches to play some of the roles of a father figure in the lives of their players. We work towards developing the players in Football, Faith and Future to become positive role models in their areas of influence. Football is the most participated sport played in South Africa and is a powerful and effective way to impact the most vulnerable of society.
We develop and train Coaches to be Whole Life Coaches, effective leaders and father figures in their community. Throughout the year we equip between 50-100 coaches in training events and mentor numerous coaches in on-going Coaches Fellowship Groups. In Hope Academy Drakenstein Prison we work with 23 juvenile offenders living in one communal cell. We continue to journey with them once they are released. We develop numerous children in weekly coaching at schools, in camps and clinics.
