Challenge

Dementia is not on the public agenda. Stigma, misinformation, and the consideration of memory loss as 'normal in old age allow families to hide people with dementia and deprive them of their right to health. As families don't know about benefits of drug-free therapy, and doctors don't inform them either, persons with dementia will not access timely to therapies to slow down dementia's progress. They join lately the online therapies and will have more ongoing damage. Rural areas are most affected

Solution

Drug-free therapies are available and through proven more than 8000 therapy online sessions it's possible to transform the life of the elderly with dementia by the internet. Drug-free therapy provides better quality of live. Dementia must be taken into consideration and freed from silence. Lets talk about dementia in an innovative, fresh way including online tools and Mariachi therapy.

Long-Term Impact

Our interdisciplinary team supports with a deep human sense people with dementia, families and caregivers online with drug-free therapies. The non-drug therapy applied is a scientific German model adapted to the Latin American context called MAKS. The multicomponent MAKS group intervention (Motor stimulation, Activities of daily living stimulation, Cognitive and Social stimulation) is scientifically approved for its effectiveness on psychological symptoms in people with mild to moderate dementia
