Dear friends,
The Mexican Alzheimer’s Center sends you warm greetings and our best wishes for your well-being, and we are always grateful for your interest and contributions to the project that improves the quality of life for people with dementia and their families.
We are providing an update on the period from June through September 2026, which includes important dates throughout the year that raise awareness about older adults and people with dementia: National Older Adults Day (August 21) and World Alzheimer’s Day (September 21)..

Father's Day is celebrated in Mexico on the third Sunday of June. The celebration took place not only with family on Sunday, but also at the Mexican Alzheimer's Center with all the team members. Happy Father's Day to all the dads!

August 28 is another very emotional and festive day. In addition to Mother’s Day and Father’s Day, which are also celebrated in other countries, Mexicans honor their elders every year on this date. At the Center, this celebration was a grand affair: a special gala dinner in honor of the elderly, who not only dressed in their finest attire but also thoroughly enjoyed the celebration prepared by the staff and family members with such care, dedication, and affection! These were unforgettable hours of enjoyment filled with music and dancing. A thousand thanks to everyone who made this memorable celebration possible!

The theme for this year’s World Alzheimer’s Awareness Month is: The sooner you know, the more you can do: A dementia diagnosis matters.
In this spirit, and in collaboration with Mexico City government agencies, the Mexican Alzheimer’s Center held the Dance Marathon for Alzheimer’s on September 22 at the Utopía Elena Poniatowska in Coyoacán, Mexico City. The dance incorporated elements of social, motor, and cognitive stimulation, as well as activities of daily living, in accordance with our MAKS therapy.

We provide information and guidance to older adults so they can receive a timely diagnosis and access non-pharmacological therapies with proven results in slowing the progression of the disease, thereby ensuring a higher quality of life for a longer period of time—both for the person affected and for their family members and caregivers.

On September 24, we held informational and awareness-raising sessions for members of the Mexican-German Chamber of Commerce (CAMEXA) and the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). They were deeply moved by an initial awareness-raising activity, followed by an informative presentation and a Q&A session. Thank you to the participants for their enthusiasm and interest!

On September 30, we traveled to the State of Mexico, to the municipality of Nezahualcóyotl, and spoke with more than 145 older adults about Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. They had the opportunity to participate in cognitive and motor challenges, as well as multisensory stimulation, which made them feel happy for a moment and created a peaceful atmosphere.

Since September is World Alzheimer’s Awareness Month, the media seeks out more information and reaches out to the Mexican Alzheimer’s Center; this year, 15 articles were published in various media outlets. We invite you to check out some of these articles via the links attached to this report!

We’d like to say goodbye today by sharing an imaginary journey we took from the Mexican Alzheimer’s Center to Rio de Janeiro on Flight 320 of Aerolíneas del Recuerdo…
…we can connect and travel even without leaving the country! Connect with us and join us on this and many other journeys yet to come.

We send you lots of warm regards and hugs!
