Dear friends,
Receive a big greeting and embrace from Mexico.
This report covers the period from December 2023 to March 2024. We will tell you how we closed the year 2023 and what were the activities of this 2024.
As every year we celebrated the Day of Love and Friendship in February, International Women's Day in March, and the beginning of spring, also in March.
From April 5 to 7 we had an extraordinary event in Mexico City, the Senior Citizen Festival at the World Trade Center, in its tenth edition. It is itinerant between Guadalajara, Leon and CDMX. Now we share with you an image and in the next report we will tell you more details of this wonderful event where the Mexican Alzheimer Center had a stand, cognitive and stimulation activities, raffle, sale of products with cause and talks to the attendees.
Now we share with you the rest of the activities:
Christmas - celebration on December 20, 2023.
We closed the year 2023 on a high note with our Christmas celebration on December 20, 2023. The staff and social service students of the Mexican Alzheimer's Center took great care to present a very moving celebration that made it possible for the elderly and their families to participate. From the Wishing Sphere and Merry Christmas, Santa Claus to the song Bells on Bells there was a wide range of fun numbers and deep reflections: Merry Christmas to all and a Happy New Year!
Love and Friendship Day, February 14, 2024
We celebrated Love and Friendship Day or Valentine's Day with special gusto. There was Food for the Heart, Love Roulette, Cupid's Feats and the song Obsession, but all in all lots and lots of love, affection and more love. Congratulations! Here's to the values of sincere and lasting friendship.
International Women's Day, March 8, 2024
As there are more women than men with some form of dementia and as women are the majority of caregivers at home, it is imperative to commemorate International Women's Day every March 8. This year there were varied participations from reflections on 'Being a woman and being myself' to 'Remembering great women' as we are all the women of the Mexican Alzheimer's Center.
We send a big hug to the women who support us in our work, thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
Spring, March 21, 2024
March 21 is not only celebrated as the beginning of spring with the equinox of the sun, but also the birthday of Benito Juarez, former president of Mexico. This year these celebrations were joined by the beginning of Holy Week and Easter.
The seniors learned about the colors and flowers of spring, they were coloring the emotions and forming the pot of my life. Music could not be missing and all together they sang the Hymn to Joy, initiating Easter.
Senior Citizen Festival, April 5 to 7, 2024
We will tell you more about this event that attracted many people from Mexico City and other states of the Republic in our next report.
Thank you for your support always! Help us in this time of Little by Little Campaign where your contributions will be multiplied and more seniors will have access to online non-pharmacological therapies!
THANK YOU!
