We want to continue being bearers of good news… and share with you all the hard work we, the collaborators of Alzheimer México IAP, did every day during May, June, and July to reach out for all the people who are in need. Today, more than ever, we are aware of our purpose “to provide comprehensive care not only to elderly people with Alzheimer’s and other dementias but to their relatives and caregivers to improve their quality of life.
In May we had the chance to celebrate Mother’s Day (May 10) along with prestigious TV program A quien corresponda, aired on channel 13 and whom we would like to thank for all the attention and safety provided to our participants by complying with the COVID-19 safety protocols, making this a very special day for everyone. During the same month, we also achieved a successful sale of our producto con causa for Mother’s Day fundraising campaign to carry on with our occupational therapy workshops.
We are in constant training so that our personnel is highly capable to perform the different tasks in the areas that form our day center. We have taken courses such as Enrichment of the relationship with the donor, Google Ads, Dementia health, breathing physiotherapy, cleaning and sanitation.
Alzheimer Mexico implemented a whole day of training called “Alzheimer Day”. On this day, we work on our areas of improvement in the workplace through training courses, workshops, teamwork tasks and exhibitions by our collaborators to become aware of the work they do in their areas.
In June and July, we appeared in different means of communication: Aquí nos tocó vivir, hosted by Cristina Pacheco on Channel 11, Aura Salud and Portal yo también with the interview “In the middle of the pandemic, dementia can also be treated from home”.
We’ve developed a special product for Father’s Day with the participation of our beneficiaries, which consists of a coffee packet from our allied brand Etnia 52, and 3 chocolate swarms (typical Mexican candy bars) all placed in a wooden basket, also generating a good fundraising and outreach.
Alzheimer's at home continues to grow, work has been done to improve and implement new things within the platform, such as the Ask the Expert section where you can answer specific questions about older people.
The fundraising area has been in charge of looking for strong allies such as: Biogen Laboratories, Senosiain Laboratories, Lundbeck Laboratories, Carnot Laboratories, Visiting Angels, among others, to request financial sponsorship support for the realization of the expected Alzheimer's event - Learn and act 2021
Let us remember that ... Alzheimer- Learn and Act is a free event whose objective is to guide and educate family members, caregivers and the general public about Alzheimer's disease and other dementias.
We invite you to participate in the next Little by Little campaign, from September 13 to 17 where all donations of up to $ 50 dollars and @GlobalGiving will add up to 50% of what you give for the campaign.
