It is a pleasure for us to share with you our project activities from November 2018 to January 2019. Celebrating the end of the year and the beginning of another, we at Alzheimer Mexico celebrated important dates, received student visits, and continued our stimulation activities. Let's take a look at the important activities we have carried out.
In November we received the visit of new students from Tecnológico de Monterrey, Santa Fe campus, who donated their talent by taking beautiful photos and participating in activities with us. Thank you to teacher Hilda Muñoz Gómez and her students!
We also participated in Cemefi (Mexican Center For Philanthropy) 2018 Annual Meeting, strengthening alliances with other organizations. Our founder, Mrs. Lilia María Groues del Mazo participated in the conference "Sensitization towards unattended ailments", on Tuesday 13th. Thank you CEMEFIfor having selected us to share our expertise in this important event!
On November 14th, the students from ENEO (National School of Nursing and Obstetrics) who do their internships with us, organized a very funny dynamic "Alzheimer's Mexico Supermarket", as part of cognitive stimulation.
The “Dolores Olmedo Museum” received our visit on November 20th, as part of our walks for the physical and cognitive stimulation. We walked through the garden, which has a great diversity of plants and flowers, and through the cultural exhibitions. We really liked it!
On November 23, social worker Luisa Calzada participated in the To Whom It May Concern Program (“A quien corresponda”) of Canal a+7.2, providing guidance to the population on dementias.
In November we also received the visit of students from the Universidad Intercontinental, organized by Victor Quiroz, who brought us piñata, fun activities and a valuable donation of blankets for the cold. Thank you for your enthusiasm, we look forward to seeing you soon!
In the last month of the year, we also have piñata with ENEO students. On December 13, the students made the traditional “Posada”, which reminds people of the pilgrimage of Mary and Joseph from their departure from Nazareth to Bethlehem, where they looked for a place to stay and wait for the birth of the baby Jesus. How important it is to celebrate our traditions!
In our Day Care Center, we celebrated the end of the year with the end of the year meal, with the families. We ate, danced and sang. They were presented with an exciting photo exhibition. Thank you all for being part of Alzheimer Mexico, I.A.P.!
We organized a fun walk to the Papalote Children's Museum with students from WinPenny School, where we participated in many cognitive stimulation activities. Thank you guys for joining us!
In Mexico, we celebrate the Three Kings Day, traditionally celebrated on January 6th with many gifts and the delicious “rosca de reyes”, which we ate on January 7th.Inside the bread there is one or several small dolls (plastic representations of the Child Jesus) and the person who finds it offer “tamales” or “atole”, on the 2nd of February, Day of the Virgin of Candelaria. So delicious!
In January, we also participated in the Community Journey of the Elderly in Tlalpan, providing information to the general public. We are grateful for the invitation of Mayor Patricia Aceves. Thank you!
Besides all activities, we are proud to announce that since January we have a new institutional image (as you can see in our photos). Renewal is a quality of life, a preamble to growth and positive changes, in Alzheimer Mexico, I.A.P. we renew our image with the firm purpose of continuing to grow as an institution to provide a better service with the same objective.
We want to invite our donors to keep supporting the dementia treatment with your important donation and to invite your family and friends to support Alzheimer México I.A.P. as well. You are very important to us! Don´t forget it!
