Kalitar village of Rapti Municipality in Chitwan district, Nepal lies in a very hilly area. National grid electricity has not reached there because of difficult geographical terrain.
ECCA provided solar photovoltaic lamps to each of the 25 members of Janakalyan Women Group, Kalitar. They were also provided orientation on solar energy, how to properly use solar lamp, and its simple maintenance.
Mrs. Lalimaya, who has four school going children, is one of the members of Janakalyan Women Group, Kalitar. Mrs. Lalimaya is very happy as her four children have now benefitted from the use of the solar PV lamp. By using the solar PV lamp, now, they can study well in the evening as well.
