Because of difficult geographical terrain (very hilly area), electricity has not reached Symrang village of Rapti Municipality in Chitwan district. ECCA mobilized the local women, helped them to establish women group and provided various trainings. ECCA also provided solar photovoltaic lamps to each of the 20 members of Janajyoti Women Group, which helped them to ease their daily life. They were also provided orientation on solar energy, how to properly use solar lamp, and its simple maintenance.
President of Janajyoti Women Group, Ms. Dilmaya is thankful for the support and shared that the solar lamp has eased her household work, which, previously, she had to do under kerosene lamp light.
