Every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and build a brighter future. To support this vision, AWARD Pakistan has begun the initial planning phase for establishing a community-based preschool for children from vulnerable brick kiln families.
As part of this process, the project team conducted community visits and a household survey in a newly identified intervention area. The assessment revealed that many families work at nearby brick kilns, where children often have limited or no access to quality early childhood education. During the survey, 32 preschool-aged children were identified who would benefit from enrollment in the proposed learning center.
In addition to the field assessment, AWARD Pakistan reviewed and strengthened the proposed preschool curriculum by comparing it with established early childhood education standards. The curriculum was enhanced to include early literacy, foundational numeracy, communication skills, creative arts, physical development, social and emotional learning, health education, and play-based learning, ensuring that children receive a well-rounded start to their education.
These initial visits and assessments have confirmed both the urgent need for a preschool and the community's interest in providing young children with a safe and supportive learning environment. With continued support, AWARD Pakistan looks forward to transforming this plan into a fully functioning preschool where children can begin their educational journey and build the foundation for lifelong learning.
