Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful's research revealed there is an estimated 502 million pieces of litter on our streets, parks, and public places. Just nine cities across the Commonwealth spend more than $68 million each year combating litter and illegal dumping, resources that could otherwise support public safety, education, infrastructure, and vital community services like parks and recreation. 80% of that expense goes toward cleanup of items that could be recycled or properly disposed.
