CHILDREN HOPE FOREVER in partnership with FICE (Forum des Intellectuels Congolais de l'Etranger) decided to visit the victims of the eruption of the Nyiragongo volcano, precisely those of Kibati in order to bring a smile to their faces during this period of festivity. This is why they decided to celebrate Christmas with the children of victim families.
The program for the day of December 29, 2021, was to spend the day with the children: playing and sharing the meal with them. On this, we had preparatory activities among other things the purchase of goods, and the distribution of tokens. The distribution of tokens took place two days before the activity. We had sent three members to the disaster camp in Kibati to distribute the tokens to 200 families and each family was entitled to only one token, so one child. This token was used as a right of entry for the children. We were also assisted by the WATOTO WA KIVU group for labor and the king's family, MWAMI BUTITI, who allowed us to bring the children together in his compound, not far from the disaster camp.
For the purchase and the kitchen, the members of FICE and CHILDREN HOPE FOREVER have planned a menu made of juice, Potatoes, Beans, Meat, Rice, Donuts, Cookies, and sweets (for appetizers) For the game, we had played soccer, girls game, nzango, card, etc. we were also able to send some parents with some food stock from what remained that was not cooked ( rice, onions).
Together we planned to help 200 but many more children were able to eat and have fun playing with us.
We were happy to provide what we had, to play with the children, to see their parents smile; but we couldn't help noticing that more was needed in terms of medicine, clothes, shoes; jackets, school supplies (notebooks, pens, school bags), etc. that's why they always need our help. We appreciate your donations and encourage you to share with friends, families so we can all support our brothers and sisters in need.
We thank you for all the kindness you show to people in Kibati / GOMA.
Together we can are making a huge impact on people's lives
