Celebrating Graduation in Kabul

Recently, Aid Afghanistan for Education celebrated our favorite time of the year: graduation! 28 students recently completed 12th grade at AAE's school in Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan. Part of the celebration is sharing the successes with you, our amazing supporters.

Anissa is a 45 year old mother of 9 children who have all grown up and went on to pretigious law and medical schools. Once her children were old enough, Anissa decided she wanted to return to school herself and turned to AAE because she is too old to re-enter the public school system. This year, she graduated and is continuing on to a private law university near Kabul!

Anissa's proud family attended her graduation. Her daughter said,"I am very emotional to see my mother continue her education. She has always been the center of our lives helping us to move forward and achieve what we all have. I am very happy today."

Students like Anissa are the reason Aid Afghanistan for Education was founded more than 15 years ago. With so many women facing difficulty returning back to public schools, it had seemed like their academic careers were over. Luckily, AAE provides free, accelerated, ministry-approved education to women of all backgrounds, including those who are too old or married.

Fewer than 5% of Afghan girls make it past the 6th grade. Due to years of war and the pressure to marry early, millions of girls are robbed of their childhoods and thus, their educations. You can help prevent this and provide quality education for Afghan women like Anissa. Right now, The Safer World Fund is matching donations at 50%, meaning a $50 donation jumps to $75! Acting now will save lives and help build Afghanistan's economy, stabilizing a country torn apart by war. Here is the link: Grow Peace in Afghanistan: Educate 3000 Women

As always, thank you for your decision to become a partner for peace by fostering education in Afghanistan. Your impact is a true blessing.
