In Kyengera, Uganda, 500 youth are eager for online jobs, but internet costs $3 per GB - more than many families earn in a day. Without training in AI and freelancing, plus affordable internet, these talented youth will be locked out of the same digital opportunities that change lives worldwide
Mountains of Hope is building a solar WiFi and AI skills hub in Kyengera Kampala. Solar power removes the $3 per GB data cost so youth get free internet. We train youth in AI tools, freelancing, and digital marketing using Luganda and English. The hub will also build a Luganda AI assistant with trusted farming and health information. Each $25 trains one youth for one month. Each $100 buys one computer for the hub
In year one we will train 500 youth in Kyengera Kampala in AI skills and freelancing. We will provide free solar WiFi to 2,000 residents and launch a Luganda AI assistant for local farmers. By 2029 the hub will train 1,500 youth and earn income from training to pay for solar power. This creates lasting digital jobs for youth in Kyengera. Every $25 trains one youth.
