Dear supporters,
From the entire Biopal team we wish your family and you a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year.

We are very proud of our project in Mali. In a region where projects often don't work, we show that with will and courage, projects can perfectly work. The jihadist organisations are trying more and more to win over the population. In their often hopeless situations, Malinese people do not see other ways out than to join the extremist tendencies. Our project is more necessary than ever before to stop this development.

The possibility of earning their own income (selling of the fruits of the tree, and having their own fields ecologically and economically effective) offers the women of the Kayes region a way out and the chance for a stronger position in the society. Hope and success are enormously important to extinguish the jihadist upsurge.

We never before had so little rain, the desert is coming closer and the fields of the farmers in Mali are less and less effective enough. The fields in our agricultural school are doing perfectly fine, due to the immensly positive effect of the trees within our fields. We teach more and more farmers the advantages of natural, ecologcal farming with no pestizides and the positive impact of trees in the soil. We are planting more and more trees in the surrounding villages to support the farmers. And we get more and more farmers asking us to help with the trees.

However: everything we have achieved so far and still want to implement, we could not have done without your support and your faith in our project. For this we want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Best wishes and stay healthy!

Laura & Peter and of course the whole Biopal team in Kayes

Dear supporters,

We hope you all stay safe in times of corona! As usual, as we always mention: we are making progress.

Our tractor is doing good work. We have a new student from the universty of Bamako overseeing the plantation and the classes. We are now again planting onions, the local women make good money with it, and the process is quiet difficult. That makes it an ideal learning experience. To plant different trees within the fields was the best idea we ever had. The trees give shadow, hold the water in the ground and also deliver fruits to sell for the women.

The classes are still a big succes and are now done outside due to corona. The female participants are helping, learning and continue to bring new ideas to the project. Thanks to them we are trying new plants and varietes. The cooking classes are still a big succes. Our challenges right now, is still money for the rest of the buildings and to enlarge the training fields. Till then we are doing our best, with the fundings we have. So we want to say: Thank you! Thank you for supporting us, thank you for believing in us! But lets stop talking, have a look at our photos.

Dear Supporters,

As usual, we are making progress. The classes are still a big succes. We can see that people stop using chemicals, and are adapting our biological way of planting. The results are incredible. You see more trees being planted, crops being combined with beans and cucumber. It is really impressive. The onignon production were difficult when we started, but we are really happy with the results.
The female participants are helping, learning but also creating new project with there ideas. The cooking classes are a big succes as well. Our challenges right now, is still money for the buildings.
Till then we are doing our best, with the fundings we have. So we want to say: Thank you! Thank you for supporting us, thank you for believing in us!

Dear Supporters,

we are again on our way to Mali.

We are making progress as usual. The classes are a big succes. We can see that people stop using chemicals, and are adapting our biological way of planting. The results are incredible. You see more trees being planted, crops being combined with beans and cucumber. It is really impressive.
Moreover, the collaboration with female participants are better than expected. They are helping, learning but also adding with new ideas. The cooking classes are a big succes as well. Our challenges right now, is still money for the buildings.
Till then we are doing our best, with the fundings we have. So we want to say: Thank you! Thank you for supporting us, thank you for believing in us!

We will keep you posted.
