The " Aghsoh Sport gala 2024" organized by Alkhidmat Foundation in Dir Lower, concluded successfully. The event spanned over ten days and saw the participation of students from over 50 government and private schools. This sports gala included a variety of sports and cultural competitions designed to encourage both physical and intellectual growth among young participants.

Activities and Competitions

The event featured the following activities:

Sports Competitions: Cricket, Badminton, Table Tennis, and Long Jump.
Cultural Competitions: Recitation (Qirat), Naat (poems in praise of Prophet Muhammad ), National Songs, Speeches, Drawing, and Art & Craft.

Objectives

The primary objectives of this event were:

To promote a healthy and active lifestyle among school-going children.
To provide a platform for cultural expression and talent showcase.
To foster a sense of community, teamwork, and discipline among participants.
To encourage students to engage in both physical activities and creative arts.

Inauguration and Participation: The gala saw enthusiastic participation from students of over 50 schools, highlighting the event's wide reach and appeal.
Distinguished Guests: The closing ceremony was graced by Dr. Mushtaq Ahmed Mangat, Vice President of Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan, as the Chief Guest. The event was also attended by Fazal Mahmood (Assistant Secretary General, Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan), Maulana Asadullah (District Patron of Alkhidmat Foundation), and Syed Tanveer Shah (Manager Volunteer Management, Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan).
Awards Ceremony: Teams and individuals demonstrating exceptional performance were honored with awards and certificates to acknowledge their hard work and encourage them for future endeavors.

This event aimed to nurture creativity and self-expression among the children, while also fostering a sense of community and participation.

Key Achievements:

A total of 55 students actively participated in the drawing competition, showcasing their artistic talents and creativity.
The event not only provided an opportunity for students to express themselves but also promoted teamwork and camaraderie among the participants.
The competition was generously sponsored by Friends of Alkhidmat in Jeddah, reflecting a strong commitment to supporting the education and development of orphans in Pakistan.

Impact on Orphans: The drawing competition was a meaningful experience for the students at Aghosh Homes, allowing them to explore their artistic abilities and gain confidence in their skills. Events like these play a crucial role in enriching the lives of orphans, providing them with constructive outlets for their emotions and talents.

Future Plans: Currently, Aghosh Homes Chitral accommodates 55 orphans, and we aspire to expand this capacity to at least 100 children. To achieve this goal, we are actively seeking sponsorship for each orphan at a cost of $1,000 annually. By increasing the number of children we can support, we aim to provide more vulnerable youth with the care, education, and opportunities they deserve.

A Unique Leadership Experience at Alkhidmat Aghosh

Introduction: On 05 oct 2024, Alkhidmat Foundation hosted a unique election experience at Alkhidmat Aghosh Home Karachi, where over 100 students participated in a simulated electoral process. This engaging event was designed to educate and empower children about the democratic process, encouraging them to be informed citizens and active participants in society.

Key Achievements:

More than 100 students from Alkhidmat Aghosh Home Karachi,s actively participated in the election experience, gaining valuable insights into the electoral process.
The event successfully fostered a sense of civic responsibility and awareness among the students, highlighting the importance of voting and democracy.
Alkhidmat’s Aghosh Home program currently sponsors over 2,500 orphans across 22 cities in Pakistan, providing them with education, accomodation,health, and personal development.

Impact on Orphans: The unique election experience served not only as an educational initiative but also as a means of fostering community engagement among the youth residing at Aghosh Homes. This initiative aligns with Alkhidmat’s ongoing commitment to empower orphans and provide them with the skills and knowledge necessary to thrive in society.

Future Plans: Currently, eight Aghosh Homes are under construction, aiming to expand the capacity to support even more orphaned children in need of care and education. The foundation continues to work diligently to enhance the living conditions and educational opportunities for these vulnerable populations.
