You really make a difference.
In today’s world we can sometimes feel that we don’t make much of a difference, there are much bigger forces at work in the world. However, each of us does make a difference and that is so beautiful to see when we give opportunities for others to shine.Sharing what we have and giving others some of the life chances we enjoyed really does change their world and that in turn changes our world too.
Day by day and week by week.
We witness the delightful milestones your giving creates as these kids enjoy the benefits of being able to attend school and college.
An opportunity they would not have had without us giving them that opportunity.
Swikriti and Ujwal are now enrolled in a nursing college in Bangalore, India to get their college-level education and begin their careers. They are currently studying General Nursing and Midwifery and are pleasantly happy with the choices they have made. It will take another 3 years to get that degree, but they have our love and support as they embark on this new journey.
The gift of education is life giving.
Nepal has three different board exams to see if students are ready to move on to the next grade or not. These exams are milestones and set a course toward a complete education, they are undertaken at year 8, year 10 and year 12; and we guide, encourage and where necessary provide additional tutoring to ensure the kids have the best support we can give them.
We are a “Family of Families”…
And you are very much a part of that reality, for the children and mother’s we support are so much a part of one family that draws on our love and support, just as our own families draw on us and we on them.
It is a gift to know that love extends beyond our immediate relatives, love is unbounded and is the force that gives life to all.
We are on track to meet our 2023-24 budget which is $123, 820, and that is always a relief. However, if we are to do more, and if we want to really change the situations many single-mum families are in, then we will need to build our support base and attract new regular sponsors.
We encourage you to share the story of why you give, tell your friends, and maybe form a group that will regularly donate a small amount that you can pool together. Certainly, every gift makes a difference, and we just want to do more.
“There is always light, if only we're brave enough to see it. If only we are brave enough to be it.”
Amanda Gorman
Letting go is also part of the gift
Each year we see our “kids” go into the world as adults, taking their place beyond the family nest.
Earlier this year we said goodbye to our beloved member Susmita Dahal as she embarked on a journey to Japan to explore the new possibilities in her life. What a joy to see “our family” grow, what a joy to share what we have and give others the chance of realising their dreams.
Thank you for “giving back”, you not only enable our work in Nepal but being part of this ‘family of families’ inspires and encourages others. From the kids in Nepal… Thank You for everything
IGWR has no overhead expenses, your giving goes directly to our work in Nepal. IGWR is managed by volunteers and that includes underwriting all the usual overhead expenses such as computer costs, web-site maintenance and accounting services; all these expenses are supported by the volunteers and committee members that help keep the operations working.
