Ben is a child with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). When he first arrived at school, he found it difficult to stay seated, often displayed strong emotional reactions, and frequently got into conflicts with his classmates due to impulsive behavior. However, these seemingly disruptive behaviors were never intentional. Compared with other children, Ben simply found it more difficult to regulate his emotions and maintain his attention.
Concerned that repeated setbacks might gradually undermine Ben’s confidence in himself and in learning, and that he might be labeled as a "problem student," his teacher referred him to an Eden Foundation "Elephant Circle" partner service site (a community-based support program for disadvantaged children). The goal was to provide him with greater companionship and support, helping him gradually become more emotionally stable.
After joining the program, Ben began to change little by little through the patient guidance and companionship of the teachers. He went from being unable to wait and easily losing his temper to proudly sharing the cookies he baked successfully for the first time. He also progressed from frequently disregarding rules to learning cooperation and concentration during sports activities. Today, Ben's emotions have become more stable, and he has started to express his feelings and thoughts more willingly. These seemingly small improvements are the result of long-term understanding, companionship, and acceptance.
