We've taken several months to rebuild our strategy to engage and empower youth through soccer and the results of this commitment are now starting to really show. Our PLAY4PURPOSE model has been fully developed (at least the full version 1.0) and tested in 4 communities in Kumba earlier this year. The results are in and we have a winner. Now we are expanding to 3 more neighborhoods, bringing out total to 7 in the country, and re-launching our girls league, too!
This month more than 50 girls take to the field in a friendly competition focused on Leadership & Governance. Our team has been busy mobilizing them from various areas of town to participate and we have a nice mix of former program participants and fresh faces joining our programs! After dividing into 6 teams, the girls selected their team captains who would participate in leadership workshops in the week ahead.
Now we're gearing up for the kick off celebrations and competitions to run until the end of the year! Please follow us on Facebook and Instagram to keep up with all of the activities! Thanks for your commitment to gender equity through sport!
