Scholarship Report 2021
By AUBG Development Team | AUBG Development Office
The scholarship program at AUBG advances our goal to promote excellence in education and provides educational opportunities for outstanding but financially challenged young people determined to change the world for the better.
In March 2021 the AUBG Scholarship Committee awarded one partial scholarship at the amount of $2,500 to a student from Kazakhstan.
We believe that the support from this scholarship fund will decrease the recipient's financial burden and allow them to further develop their personal and academic potential.
The American University in Bulgaria would like to thank all our supporters. Help in difficult times leaves a lasting footprint and is critical for the strength of our incredible community.

Welcome home, AUBG students!
By Irena Macheva | Project Leader
Dear friends,
We are both proud and happy to have successfully started our first ever hybrid semester. Proud, because we did it - we managed to deliver to our students uncompromised instruction wherever they are physically, a healthy campus environment and unspoiled AUBG experience. Happy, because we welcomed our continuing students back, as well as a great incoming class of new AUBG-ers!
Thanks to your contributions to our GlobalGiving project Affordable Education for International Students, we offered scholarships to several international students who had been accepted to AUBG. Two of them are already freshmen at AUBG from this fall semester! We are extremely appreciative of your support in bringing them in and look forward to taking them through their life-changing journey with AUBG.
With immense gratitude and respect!

End of Online Semester - What's Next?
By Tijana Stevanovic | Project Contributor
Dear Friends,
As we successfully completed a very unconventional online semester, we wanted to thank you and all our other supporters who allowed us to overcome the challenges we faced as a result of the coronavirus outbreak. When we were writing our last report, we did not anticipate all the unforeseen circumstances we would encounter and issues we would have to overcome to get where we are today.
As we marched forward, our primary concern was the safety and wellbeing of our community, while ensuring the academic progress of the students. We are planning on reopening our campus and getting back to in-person teaching, but at the same time being ready to offer hybrid and online classes for anyone who cannot attend physically. That would be extremely useful for all our students who might have health or travel restrictions and would help more international students enrol at AUBG knowing that they can still attend classes live, on the ground and online.
With your invaluable support, we have been able to award partial first-year scholarships to five incoming international students for the academic year 2020-2021. We will continue to fundraise for the next incoming class as well and hope to receive unceasing support from true friends of AUBG like you!
As always, we are truly thankful for your commitment to supporting international students in obtaining top-quality education at AUBG!
Stay healthy!
