In January 2016, AEC launched our program in Tanzania. To date, we have worked with 16 social entrepreneurs ranging from a national maternal health app, a local recycling company, and a technology company creating smart classrooms throughout Northern Tanzania.
We are so thrilled with the companies that AEC is working with in Tanzania. Our goal was to identify and support 50 hgh potential entrepreneurs throughout the year, and we are well on our way of hitting our goal.
In addition to working directly with entrepreneurs, we are helping build an entrepreneurial ecosystem amoung students at three universities in Moshi, Tanzania. In April, we launched a small business plan competition, where we gave out 6 prizes of $250. Over 200 students submitted business ideas during the inaugural competiton and we are thrilled to see such excitement among the local youth.
Thank you so much for your support and we will continue to update you on our progress.
