Dignity, Care, and Companionship for Older Adults

During the period from October to December 2025, the Ayuda de Corazón program supported more than 250 older adults in Hermosillo, Sonora, providing consistent food assistance with deep respect for their dignity. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, more than 3,250 nutritional food packages were distributed, representing not only nourishment, but also peace of mind, care, and presence for people navigating this stage of life in vulnerable conditions.

Don Ramón, 77 years old, is one of the participants in Ayuda de Corazón. He shares that this support represents a “dignified, humane, and affectionate farewell to life.” For many years, he worked in the field of electronics, but technological changes made it increasingly difficult to continue in his trade—without ever giving up his daily struggle. He recognizes the effort of the Food Bank to accompany and support them, and he calls on others to continue supporting this program, noting that while they may not be able to give back financially, they do so with gratitude, encouragement, and blessings. His testimony reflects the profound impact of feeling accompanied and valued.

The end of the year was especially meaningful for our community of older adults. Through the “Letter to Santa” initiative, we delivered gifts to more than 120 older adults who attend the food bank, bringing moments of joy and hope. We also hosted a holiday celebration, where food and shared time created a space for connection, and on December 24, we distributed Christmas dinners, ensuring that no older adult spent this important day without food or companionship.

We are deeply thankful to everyone who believes in Ayuda de Corazón. Your support not only nourishes bodies—it accompanies life stories, comforts hearts, and reminds our older adults that they are not alone and that their lives continue to matter.
