A Story of SHIKHA.........!!
My name is Shikha (Name Changed), and I am 13 years old. Ever since I was little, I’ve been very passionate about protecting the environment. I love nature and feel strongly about doing everything I can to take care of our planet. I believe that each one of us has a role to play in keeping our Earth clean and green. One of my favorite days of the year is Earth Day. It’s a special day dedicated to raising awareness about environmental issues and encouraging people to take action to protect our planet. This year, something wonderful happened at my school for Earth Day.
Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan (RSKS India) organized a special Earth Day celebration program, and I was thrilled to be a part of it. The day started with a lot of excitement. The RSKS India team came to our school with a plan to celebrate Earth Day in a meaningful way. They had organized several activities to help us learn more about the environment and to encourage us to take action. I couldn’t wait to get started!
One of the most exciting parts of the program was the tree planting activity. I had always wanted to plant trees, and this was my chance to do something that I cared deeply about. We went outside to a designated area where the RSKS team had prepared spots for planting. Each of us was given a young sapling to plant. As I held the small tree in my hands, I felt a sense of responsibility and hope. I knew that this little tree could grow into something big and beautiful if we took care of it.
Before we started planting, the RSKS team explained the importance of trees and how they benefit our environment. They talked about how trees provide oxygen, help clean the air, and offer shelter and food for many animals. They also emphasized that planting trees is one of the simplest and most effective ways we can contribute to a healthier planet. We planted our trees with great care, and I made a promise to myself that I would protect and nurture my tree as it grew. The RSKS team had also organized an oath-taking ceremony where we all pledged to take care of the trees we planted and to spread awareness about the importance of tree plantation. The Earth Day celebration didn’t end with tree planting. The RSKS team also organized a workshop on how we can continue to help the environment in our daily lives. They gave us tips on reducing waste, conserving water, and using eco-friendly products. We learned how small changes in our habits can make a big difference.
At the end of the day, we had a small celebration with refreshments, and I felt a sense of accomplishment. It was inspiring to see so many of my classmates and friends getting involved and showing their support for the environment. We all left with a renewed sense of purpose and a commitment to making our planet a better place. I want to extend a huge thank you to RSKS India for organizing such a wonderful Earth Day celebration.
