At St. Rose’s High School, the 2026 examination results tell a story of both achievement and opportunity. Students recorded a 94.86% overall CSEC pass rate and a 91.4% overall CAPE pass rate. Biology and Integrated Science reached 100% at CSEC, while strong results were also recorded in General Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics. At the same time, performance across some mathematics and advanced science subjects shows why continued access to practical learning, technology, and focused examination preparation remains important.
That is where Adopt-a-Lab: Expanding Excellence at St. Rose’s comes in. The goal is not simply to renovate a room. We are working toward a learning hub where students can strengthen practical science skills, use school-managed digital resources, prepare for CSEC and CAPE examinations, and access learning tools even when reliable technology or internet access may not be available at home. The plan combines laboratory improvements with 50 laptops or tablets, digital exam-preparation resources, offline learning capability, secure equipment storage, and support for teachers and after-school learning.
This quarter, the project remains in its fundraising and readiness stage. Twenty-two donors have made 23 donations totaling $5,008, bringing us to approximately 20% of our first $25,000 implementation milestone. At the same time, we are preparing for the next stage by identifying priority laboratory needs, reviewing equipment requirements, and planning how resources can be deployed as funding milestones are reached.
The 2026 results are not outcomes of Adopt-a-Lab. the project has not yet reached implementation. Instead, they show the strong academic foundation on which this project can build. Our donors are helping us work toward something very practical: giving more students consistent access to the tools, laboratory experiences, and digital resources that can help them turn potential into sustained achievement. We are grateful to everyone who has joined us at this early stage and look forward to sharing the progress that comes next.
