The Covid19 pandemic led to many people in the local slums we work in loosing their jobs. Most are casual workers paid daily, and employers were afraid of the risk of infection as they live in congested areas. This consequently led to the sick and elderly being abandoned. We thus decided to fundraise for food packages to assist them. This contain enough food to feed a family of about 5-8 person for a bout 2-3 weeks. We have a fortnightly distribution system, with a focus on the sick and elderly.
Hungry families who cannot afford food. Abandoned sick and elderly people as their families have no means to cater for them. They also cannot afford to buy masks and sanitizers to protect themselves from the virus.
Provide the urgently needed nutrition for this impoverished people. Have a focus on the sick and elderly to assist them get back on their feet. In addition, ensure they keep well protected from the global virus.
This people cannot work if they lack the strength to. Besides the donation, we train them on money making skills. But first we have to ensure they are not dying of the virus and hunger as we look for more ways to assist them.
