The Active Across Ages project is gathering momentum. Training for children to become Activity Buddies was completed in March and they have now started leading physical activity sessions with older people in a range of different settings from care homes to community venues. Feedback has been really positive with both children and older people enjoying the activities.
A wide range of activities are taking place and these have been planned in conjunction with the older people themselves. They include chairobics, boccia, skittles, childhood games from the 1950s and an ‘active’ summer tea party.
