The Accionadores for Youth Triple Impact project is an educational program co-designed with adolescents and young people to transform their ideas into action. The program aims to teach participants how to create projects with environmental, social, and economic impacts through intergenerational dialogue. The program involves educational experiences, both digital and in-person, as well as intergenerational dialogue events to foster teamwork between young people and adults.
In Latin America and the Caribbean, 12 million children and adolescents are out of school, and greater educational access has not translated into learning achievements relevant to the contemporary world. Consequently, adolescents participate poorly in community spaces and activities that promote and protect their rights. Accionadores was born in response to a defective educational system, to create an innovative educational space for adolescents to develop fundamental skills for today's world.
This program aims to promote adolescent participation and empowerment through experiential learning processes and by promoting the creation and development of youth initiatives where young people work actively and directly on the needs of their communities. Key components include: Environmental Impact (encouraging sustainable solutions and practices), Social Impact (promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion), Economic Impact (ensuring economic viability and sustainability of projects).
Accionadores promotes transferable skills in adolescents that are essential to living in today's changing and uncertain world. Through them, they can act, becoming leaders and agents of change in their contexts. It also invites adolescents to recognize themselves as global citizens with co-responsibility in relevant issues such as sustainable development, and gender equity. Finally, it teaches concrete tools to help youth respond to problems in through the development of community projects.
