Since Alhassan Foundation was established in 2013, we have been working closely with wheelchair users to understand the real challenges they face in their daily lives in Egypt. Over the years, we have seen many difficulties, but one problem has always stood out as one of the biggest and most limiting—Accessible transportation.
For many wheelchair users, transportation is not simple or easy. It is often the main reason why they cannot go to work, attend school, visit friends, or take part in social activities. Something as basic as leaving the house can become a daily struggle. Without safe and accessible transportation, many people are forced to stay at home, which affects their independence, their confidence, and their sense of belonging in society.
Mai is a wheelchair user who depends on the Accessible bus to travel to and from her workplace every day. This service is the main way she can get to work safely and on time because most public transportation is not suitable for wheelchair users.
The Accessible bus has helped Mai keep her job by making it easier for her to travel every day. She no longer has to worry about finding suitable transportation or relying on other people to take her to work. This has also reduced the stress and extra costs of transportation, allowing her to focus on her work and do her job well.
The Accessible bus is very important for. Mai's independence and her ability to continue working. It helps her stay active in the workplace and be part of the community. This service shows that accessible transportation is more than just a way to travel—it gives people with disabilities the opportunity to work independently, earn a living, and enjoy a more stable and independent life.
We want to thank each and every donor or supporter who helps us to achieve this success and we urge you to continue supporting us in our cause, our hope, our dream. You can do that through subscribing to a monthly donation option, which helps us secure more funds to help more wheelchairs users and their families.
