Supporting the development of vocational secondary education in Tanzania

By Megane GERARD | Communications officer

The development of our vocational high school in Tanzania is continuing in partnership with our local partner, Jabungu Foundation, with the aim of gradually strengthening the school’s infrastructure and promoting its long-term sustainability and autonomy.

As part of this ongoing effort, students from Polytech Clermont, members of the PSF Clermont association, recently travelled to Tanzania for an international solidarity mission alongside our local partner. This mission gave the students the opportunity to contribute directly to projects on the ground while working closely with the local teams.

The students took part in preparing the site and launching the construction of a cattle shelter, which will eventually house cows. Their contribution provided practical support to the progress of the construction work. Their presence also helped strengthen the exchange of skills and experiences between the students, local teams and other project stakeholders.

The construction of this cattle shelter represents an important step in the development of the vocational high school. In the long term, cattle farming will contribute to strengthening the school’s self-sufficiency by developing a productive activity directly linked to the school’s operations. The infrastructure will provide suitable conditions for housing and raising the animals, while forming part of a broader vision for the school’s sustainable development.

Beyond the construction itself, the project aims to enable the school to gradually develop its own resources and reduce its reliance on external funding.
