Children walk up to 7km per day to go to school in the village of Magugu, Tanzania. Let's build a secondary school with various classrooms so that children from the village and its surroundings can go to school everyday and be in good learning conditions ! We will also raise awareness on the benefits of education by organising workshops with children and their parents on educational and professional opportunities.
Nowadays, classes have more than 45 students, which number is a factor in the decline of the quality of education. The distance causes a decrease in motivation to go to school for children and parents, who often prefer to have them work with them in the fields. The remote and largely unused paths to schools can be dangerous, especially for girls who are too often victims of assault. Plus, certain traditional beliefs do not allow girls to continue their education at this level.
- New classrooms will have no more than 35 pupils to allow good learning and teaching conditions - A safe road will be implemented between the school and the center of the town, where pupils can cycle to school as groups, which will also promote a daily physical activity and an environmentally-friendly habit - Raising awareness workshops will take place where the parents and the community as a general matter can understand the benefits of education for boys and girls in particular
- Magugu community is aware of the importance and challenges of education ; feels concerned and involved in their children's education as well as their possible professional opportunities - Adolescents benefit from simplified access to education, who go there on a daily basis ; fewer young people are wandering the streets or working in the fields because they benefit from quality and dignified educational conditions - Magugu' youth is now fully aware of environnemental issues and skilled to act
