The admin building in progress
The project in Magugu was initiated by the Jabunggu Foundation Association. It consists of creating a professional high school and environment with a permaculture garden and hives. This new vocational secondary school will host 450 students as from 2026. The garden aims to promote the autonomy of the site and to guarantee at least one meal a day for each student. The high school is also autonomous in electricity and water thanks to solar panels and water reserves. The four classrooms are already built, gardens and hives in activity.
The offices of the administration are currently under construction and the workers erect the roof frame with wooden beams, which are then covered by iron sheets. Other buildings like toilets and bathrooms or the kitchen are to be designed. Your support is very precious to the completion of this amazing project. Thank you for believing in us and the in the children of Tanzania !

100 Bee hives for our school !
By Laetitia CRAIG | International Director

100 bee hives for our future pupils !
As you may remember, providing access to at least one nutritious meal per day for our pupils is a top priority at Golden School Hill in Magugu. We are therefore ecstatic to announce that our beehive building has been finished and will one day be able to accommodate up to 300 hives ! 100 hives have been built and will be colonised over time !
Two bee swarms have been bought for now and little by little we hope that the bees will make enough honey to be used for the school canteen, as a medicine but also to be sold for its nutritional and medicinal properties ! You may remember that we plan to teach sustainable farming and catering at the school so pupils will soon be able to learn all about bee keeping and cooking with honey !
If you would like more information about our school project in Tanzania or about our beekeeping initiatives, please get in touch !

Progress and construction of the water tower
By Laura Blanc | Project coordinator
![]()
Since the beginning of 2024, several Danish and French volunteers have come to lend a hand on the project. Thanks to their help and the work of the workers on site, the permaculture fields have grown considerably and the buildings are ship shape and will soon be ready to welcome and feed the students of the vocational high school !
For a few weeks now, workers and volunteers have been working on the construction of a water tower that aims to supply the entire site with drinking water with constant pressure. Also, the construction of this water tower will store 50,000 L of water to cope with periods of high demand or drought. This water supply will be open to the public, thus, no one will suffer the damage of droughts that can occur, neither by the lack of water, nor by the lack of irrigation of plants that will be used to supply the canteen on site.
We are now looking to raise new funds to build and equip the missing buildings before opening in January 2025: the canteen, the kitchen, the dormitories that will allow young students to be accommodated on site, and the administrative building for teachers.
