Querida comunidad,

Saludos cordiales,

Natalia Anariba

ENGLISH:

Dear community,

We are proud to share with you some updates on our work so far in 2025!

At educate., we believe that education is key to transforming lives and building a better future. Thanks to the support of our community, this year we are providing scholarships to 40 students in total: 36 of them in high school and 4 in university. These are young people with talent, determination, and big dreams. Our scholarship recipients receive not just economic support to access education, but also mentorship, academic support, and the tools they need to become agents of change in their communities.

In addition to our growing scholarship programme, we have several other exciting experiences from the past months to share!

New training processes for young leaders

In an ever-changing world, leadership skills are powerful tools that can transform communities and open up new opportunities. This February, we welcomed OYE –Organization for Youth Empowerment to our Youth Center to train a group of our scholarship recipients with new skills and knowledge as young leaders. With these skills, this group will soon begin leading reading and math activities in elementary schools across Trinidad!

Through a comprehensive training process, these young people have had the opportunity to discover their potential, strengthen their leadership skills, and become agents of change in their communities. This process has not only given them tools for the present, but also sowed the seeds for a more inclusive and just future.

Launch of our 2025 Programs

In addition, we are excited to announce the launch of our 2025 youth programmes, spaces designed to enhance skills, discover talents, and empower young people through transformative experiences:

  • Art: A space where young people can express themselves through painting and other artistic disciplines, fostering creativity and personal and cultural identity.
  • Sports: More than a physical activity, sports are a tool for learning about teamwork, self-improvement, and positive values that promote well-being and healthy habits.
  • Communications: This program helps young people strengthen their oral and written expression skills, learn about digital media such as photography and video, and tell their own stories to impact their communities.
  • Technology: In this program, young people acquire digital skills and explore the use of technology to solve problems, build skills, and create new opportunities. They not only learn how to use programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, but also things like graphic design and robotics.

These programs are open to any young person who wants to participate, free of charge. Currently, we have 75 young people actively participating in these programs every Saturday, developing key skills for their futures and creating stronger and more resilient communities.

Welcome our new Project Coordinator!

We also want to announce that our team is growing! This year, we welcomed Tania Caballero, who joins us as Project Coordinator at educate. Her passion and commitment will further strengthen our initiatives to benefit youth. Tania is also a former educate. university scholar, and her joining the team is a testament to the power that these opportunities provide.

Your support makes this possible. Every donation opens doors and creates opportunities for young people who would otherwise be unable to access the education they deserve. Thank you for joining us on this journey and helping us continue to change lives!

Best regards,

Natalia Anariba
