Project Report | Aug 18, 2026
From Rural Communities to Skilled Graduates

By Alberta Elewosi | Project Lead

Education remains one of the most effective ways of creating opportunities and breaking the cycle of poverty among children and young people in rural communities. However, many families face financial difficulties that can prevent their children from continuing their education or pursuing vocational and professional training. Our education support programme seeks to address these barriers by providing free educational opportunities to children and youth from disadvantaged rural communities. Through this support, beneficiaries are given the opportunity to remain in education, develop their talents, acquire practical skills, and prepare for sustainable livelihoods.

We are pleased to report a significant achievement in our education programme: two of our beneficiaries have successfully graduated from TechBridge University College, where they studied Fashion Design. Their graduation marks an important milestone in their educational journey and is a source of great pride for the beneficiaries, their families, and our organisation. Through their studies at TechBridge University College, the two graduates received training in Fashion Design and developed practical skills that can provide a foundation for future employment, apprenticeship, or self-employment.

For young people from rural communities, opportunities such as these can have a lasting impact. Access to vocational education can open doors that might otherwise remain closed because of financial hardship. The success of these two graduates demonstrates the importance of investing in education for rural children and youth.

The programme has helped to:

Provide children and young people from disadvantaged backgrounds with access to education. Reduce the financial barriers associated with further education and vocational training. Equip young people with practical and marketable skills. Increase beneficiaries' confidence and prospects for independence. Create opportunities for future employment and entrepreneurship. Encourage other young people in rural communities to pursue education and skills development.

The graduation of the two Fashion Design students is therefore not simply an academic achievement. It represents an investment in their future and demonstrates how educational support can create opportunities for young people to become self-reliant.
