Getting Ready for Busy Spring!

By Dan Minnich | Co-Founder & Executive Director

Hello!

Right now at the Waypoint home office the sun is shining and the warmth of springtime is increasing every day. So too are the opportunities that Waypoint is able to provide to people with disabilities.

Waypoint Adventure remains unabashedly devoted to YES! We are a place where “I can’t” becomes “Yes, I can!” We are a non-profit educational organization that awakens youths and adults with disabilities to their willful spirit through the power of adventure. With guided, experiential programs tailored to meet people right where they’re at, Waypoint Adventure provides personal growth and team triumph – as participants discover their purpose, value, strengths, and abilities. Waypoint Adventure is here to help free what’s possible and build a more inclusive community and world.

We are proud to report that while steady growth continues in Massachusetts, our new branch in North Carolina is BOOMING. In short order, Adam and Ryan found their calendar full with more demand for Waypoint NC than they could meet. We are excited to begin new partnerships with many Western North Carolina schools and organizations. We have also secured a partnership with the U.S. National Park Service to provide first class adaptive outdoor education and adventure to people of all ages with disabilities in Western North Carolina.

In Massachusetts, we are continuing to grow and increase our capacity to serve the Massachusetts community. We are excited to report that we are on the cusp of piloting a new series of programs we have spent the last year preparing. Currently in development are a series of programs specifically designed for people with spinal cord injuries. We are very excited to get these programs going and will be announcing more details over the upcoming spring and summer seasons.

We are also proud to announce the launch of our new website! We have given waypointadventure.org an update and included new features that we think really allow you to experience who we are. Please check it out (https://waypointadventure.org/) and, as always, if you find yourself in Eastern Massachusetts or Western North Carolina, please come join us for an adventure! We are always eager to welcome new participants and volunteers.
