Greetings Friends of AEC,
Work in Rwanda has been going very well the past couple of months. Each week we are welcoming new entrepreneurs to our acceleration program; June-August are our busiest months with global mentors; and we are disbursing more low-cost loans to help young African entrepreneurs access affordable financing.
But the most exciting update this month happened outside of Rwanda at last week's Global Entrepreneurship Summit in Silicon Valley. AEC entrepreneur, Jean Bosco, served on a panel with President Obama, Mark Zuckerberg, and two other young entrepreneurs. The group discussed challenges that entrepreneurs experience, how small businesses world-wide are being more connected to markets through tools like Facebook, and ways that governments can remove barriers to growth.
After the panel, we told Jean Bosco that we thought he did a fabulous job, to which he responded, "I would like your honest feedback because I was so nervous I could only hear my heart beating in my ears, and I don't know what was coming out of my mouth."
We are beyond proud of the work Jean Bosco is doing for his community and his country.
But Jean Bosco isn't the only incredible entrepreneur AEC is working with. There are nearly 100 more in our accelerator program who are working towards last change for their families and communities.
We look forward to providing you with more updates about the success of our entreprenerus.
Thank you for your continued interest and support,
Julienne
