The initial aim of our project was to raise £3,600 to reduce the waiting list for therapy for young people in and around Bedford suffering from anxiety and depression. Thanks to your incredible generosity we have smashed our target and raised approximately £22,700 enabling 125 young people to receive therapy, significantly improving their life chances.
This has been achieved by enabling Bedfordshire Open Door, amongst other things, to extend their opening hours to include Saturday afternoons; Offer one off Drop-in counselling sessions; Recruit six new counsellors and widen expertise within their team.
You’ve made a real difference to the lives of young people desperate for therapy and told they’d have to wait.
Thank you.
Our initial target of £3,600 was to help reduce the current waiting list for counselling for young people in and around Bedford suffering anxiety and depression. We're delighted to say we've overshot our initial target raising enough to get 52 young people off the waiting list. (The list currently sits at 70.)
If we can get to £12,600 we can get rid if the waiting list altogether! There will, of course, then be a new list and so it goes on but we will have made a difference to the young people desperate for therapy and been told to wait.
