Empower Aboriginal Women through Cultural Burning

As a natural progression of this support, we have now casually employed this practitioner, providing her with consistent project opportunities that align with her skills and aspirations. This employment has not only offered her financial stability but also enabled her to expand her professional network—an essential step as she prepares to establish her own enterprise in the near future.
Through this ongoing engagement, we continue to foster her leadership capacity, cultural confidence, and business acumen. Our approach remains grounded in respectful collaboration, cultural safety, and long-term empowerment.
This evolving partnership exemplifies our commitment to supporting Aboriginal women in leadership, promoting cultural sustainability, and enabling economic independence through meaningful and culturally responsive mentorship.
We look forward to continuing this journey with her and witnessing the broader impact she will undoubtedly have within her community and beyond.

Empower Aboriginal Women through Cultural Burning

Through the SEQ Mentoring Program, we have been privileged to support an Aboriginal woman who recently celebrated a significant cultural milestone—her witnessing ceremony in December. This journey is not only personal but also an important step in her leadership and community engagement.
Following this cultural achievement, we are now assisting her and her cousin in starting their own small enterprise. This initiative is designed to empower them with the skills and resources needed to build a sustainable business while preserving and sharing their cultural knowledge. To support the growth of their enterprise, we are also helping them organize their first workshop later this month.
By nurturing their entrepreneurial spirit and providing ongoing mentorship, we are contributing to their journey of self-determination and economic independence. We look forward to witnessing their continued growth and the positive impact they will bring to their community.
This initiative reflects our commitment to supporting Aboriginal women in leadership roles, fostering cultural sustainability, and promoting community empowerment through respectful and meaningful engagement.

Supporting Women and Koala Knowledge

The Gula Gathering hosted by ACTNRM and the ACT Government, will take place at the Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve. This event aimed to bring together community members to engage in cultural and environmental activities, focusing on the significance of Gula (Koala) on Ngunnawal Country and the management of their habitat.
With the remaining funds of the empowering women through culutral burning Firesticks will support 2 women from Southern Yuin to attend to represent their community and contribute to the discussions and activities.
