AbilityTech Hub will empower young people in Kenya with digital, creative, & income-generating skills through an inclusive community space. Many youth lack access to technology, training, and opportunities, especially those with disabilities. This project will provide tools, mentorship, & resources, including computers and art materials, to help youth learn, create, and earn. In Kenya, youth in underserved, low-income communities such as informal settlements in Nairobi face limited access to digital skills, creative resources, and economic opportunities. Youth unemployment remains high, and many lack practical skills for today's digital economy. This is worse for youth with disabilities, who face barriers to inclusive learning and access to tools, leaving many unable to reach their full potential.
AbilityTech Hub will create an inclusive space where youth can access digital tools, art materials, and practical skills training. Through small group sessions of 10-15 participants, youth will learn digital, creative, and income-generating skills. The hub will provide mentorship and accessible learning for youth with disabilities, helping participants apply their skills to employment, entrepreneurship, and creative work.
This project will equip at least 150 youth each year with digital, creative, and income-generating skills, improving their chances of employment and self-reliance. By ensuring inclusion, youth with disabilities will also access opportunities. Over time, participants will create income, support their families, and share skills within their communities, contributing to reduced unemployment and stronger local economies.
