By NISHA MALAWAT - Project Leader
Abhilasha Foundation has touched 199 underprivileged children and gave them a new lease of life…. Marginalized families having no medical support are the common victims. Abhilasha Foundation realizing the sensitive status helps to raise funds for these people with kind support of yours. Due to the COVID 19 pandemic the situation has become worse and many have lost their jobs and it is difficult to get a one time meal.
Case story of two beneficiaries from Maharashtra:
Ist Beneficiary: She is a 22 months year old baby girl suffering from Congenital Heart Disease, Subaortic Ventricular Septal Defect with Left to Right shunt, Severe Pulmonary Hypertension. She needs to undergo urgent ICR-VSD Surgical Closure heart surgery at the earliest. Due to their financial condition they had been going door to door for financial support and hence could not treat their baby. Her health started deteriorating day by day and they took her to Jehangir Hospital, Pune. Doctors informed them that she requires urgent ICR-VSD surgical closure heart surgery. Her father works as a labourer in the farm inSolapur District, Maharashtra and her mother is a house wife.He earns only Rs.4916/- per month. Since he has to take care of the family and his parents are dependent on him, he naturally is not in a position to bear the cost of the surgery. The approximate cost for the surgery is Rs. 4,45,000/-.
IInd Beneficiary: He is 4 years old boy suffering from B-Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Due to their financial condition, they had been going door to door for financial support and hence could not treat him. His health started deteriorating day by day and they took him to MGM Medical Centre & Research Institute, Aurangabad. Doctors informed them that he requires urgent chemotherapy treatment as early as possible. His father works as a farmer in Buldhana District, Maharashtra, and his mother is a housewife. He earns only Rs.3333/- per month. The approximate cost for the surgery is Rs. 6,50,000/-. This is the time when even the relatives close their doors they do not even respond to their calls. When your loved ones need an emergency surgery it is very overwhelming emotionally as well as financially. These poor people are already drowned with personal loans taken from their friends, and near and dear ones. Daily updates of the patients are taken by our Team and ask them about their children’s recovery. Abhilasha Foundation is there to support them and coordinate with the hospital, donors, and patients, and help them financially for their medical surgeries and treatments.
