“You never forget the face of the person who is your last hope…..”
Dear Donors,
We are delighted to be associated with GlobalGiving Team for the support they are rendering to Abhilasha Foundation. and saving the lives of underprivileged children... Together we can eradicate poverty, illiteracy, malnutrition, and violence in the community.
COVID 19 pandemic is spreading very fast in the whole world and especially India. A large share of the workforce in India is in the unorganized sector like the daily wagers, the construction laborers, farmers, auto drivers etc. Many of them have left the cities to their home town because they had exhausted all their money and they did not know what to do. But many of the migrants whose children are studying have stayed back and we have been distributing dry food grains to them. Abhilasha Foundation initiated the process of relief services in different parts of slums in Mumbai to meet the pressing need of the afflicted, especially the tribals, daily wagers, poor, needy and physically challenged people living in the slums. Our team understood the crisis and provided the support to the needy. Abhilasha Foundation distributed dry ration to the daily wagers which included food grains, spices, oil, potatoes, onions, sugar, salt, spices, chocolates, chocolate powder, and biscuits sanitary items - sanitizer, face masks, hand gloves and soaps to the migrant children and daily wage workers families in Mumbai slums. COVID 19 pandemic has brought many challenges to the world and it has affected the lives of many people. The hospitals are closed due to the pandemic. Our team is working continuously with the communities to ensure social distancing and wearing masks& hand gloves to protect themselves from COVID 19. The migrants were very happy to receive the foodgrains from Abhilasha Foundation and they learned social distancing. We instructed the community to keep social distancing and also informed them to cover the face to carry the activity smoothly. This was captured by a news channel INSS News. After viewing the news many community volunteers of various slums started contacting us for foodgrains. We have touched20746 beneficiaries and we are still counting for more… Abhilasha Foundation team is committed even during this difficult time to continue to serve the poor and the needy.
