Donate to a lion Boma before the 12th of September, and GlobalGiving will match your donation up to $1,000!!
Currently, livestock in Mola Village is under serious threat from rising lion attacks. Families in remote communities like Mola rely on their livestock for both income and food. The increased presence of lions has caused frequent losses, endangering families’ livelihoods and prompting retaliatory killings of lions.
We are building 20 additional lion bomas in Mola to protect the community’s livestock. These bomas - wooden pens covered with cloth - prevent lions from seeing inside, significantly reducing attacks and helping protect both livestock and livelihoods.
Each boma $1,000. Through this initiative, we aim to reduce lion killings by 50%, as more community members will be equipped to safeguard their livestock using the bomas.
“Life got better when lion bomas came. Now our livestock is safe, and we don’t fight with wildlife like before. It shows us we can live with animals and still look after our families. We’re happy more people will get lion bomas.”– Richard, Village Resident
Partner with us to protect livestock in Mola Village. Your donation will build a boma to protect livestock and family incomes, reduce human-wildlife conflict, and prevent the retaliatory killing of lions.
