A New Lion Boma for Granny Grace
Granny Grace, a widow from Mola in Zimbabwe, is the courageous head of her household. She cares for her family and tends to her livestock, which is vital for their survival and income. In 2021, she suffered a heartbreaking loss when three of her donkeys were killed by lions.
Thanks to your generous support, we were able to provide Granny Grace with a brand-new lion boma—a special cloth covering for the wooden livestock pen that prevents lions from seeing inside. This simple but powerful solution has made a huge difference, significantly reducing the risk of further attacks.
Today, Granny Grace is able to keep her 12 cattle, 19 donkeys, and several goats safe and secure. Your kindness has not only protected her animals but also helped safeguard her family’s future.
Thank you for making stories like Granny Grace’s possible.
To protect livestock and support coexistence between people and wildlife, we are erecting 20 additional lion bomas in local communities in 2025. These safe enclosures help prevent predator attacks, safeguarding livelihoods while promoting wildlife conservation.
You can partner with us by sponsoring a lion boma.
